BATS & Grainal Alloys

The range of BATS and Grainal Alloys are manufactured from ferro alloys using induction furnace technology.

The alloys are principally used to maximise boron recovery in steel by preferential combination of oxygen and/or nitrogen with the protective elements aluminium, titanium and silicon combined in the alloys with boron.

The range of BATS & Grainal Alloys is used for hardenability steels - optimum hardenability occurs with soluble boron in range 0.0015%-0.0030%.
