Chrome Alumina


Chrome alumina is manufactured during the aluminothermic reduction of chromium metal. The material is then crushed and ground to specific size requirements. This material has very good hardness properties, resistance to high temperatures and resistance to abrasion.

Chrome alumina is used in applications for:

  • - Refractories - ladle lining & furnace roof refractories for the steel industry
  • - Abrasives - grinding wheels
  • - Skid resistant surfacing material - road surfacing
  • - Furnace furniture - for the glass and pottery industries
